An Inside Look on Money Shot

Chad Mendes is arguably the biggest prospect in Mixed Martial Arts and holds an impressive undefeated professional record of 7-0. He trains with Team Alpha Male with other notable MMA fighters such as Featherweight legend, Urijah Faber, WEC Bantamweight Champion, Joseph Benavidez, WEC fighter, Danny Castillo, and The Ultimate Fighter: Liddell vs. Ortiz contestant, Kyacey Uscola.
Mendes was an All-American wrestler in high school and continued his career to California Polytechnic State University. “MoneyShot” did not waste any time getting to business. Mendes was a two time All- American and won Pac-10 Wrestler of the Year his senior season.
Chad began his Mixed Martial Arts career with Palace Fighting Championship soon after he concluded his senior wrestling season. He was 4-0 with only one fight making it to decision. Soon after this, major MMA organizations began to understand that Chad Mendes was the real deal.
The WEC signed Mendes to a contract months after his last fight in California. He won his WEC debut against Erik Koch at WEC 47 in Columbus, Ohio. His WEC debut was his biggest test in his career to date and Mendes kept composed throughout and controlled the fight on the ground and came out victorious. At WEC 48, Mendes defeated Anthony Morrison in the very first round via submission. The fans who tuned in on Pay-Per-View and Spike TV got to witness MoneyShot’s strong wrestling base and use of technique and soon realized that he will be running through Featherweight division and might be Jose Aldo’s next legitimate test. It will be interesting to see what is next for Mendes but we know that he will be ready for any fight to come his way.
